ICD-10-PCS is the procedure code set U.S. hospitals use to report inpatient procedures. Every code is exactly 7 characters, and each character is an axis: section, body system, root operation, body part, approach, device and qualifier. The FY2027 set contains 79,256 codes, effective for discharges from October 1, 2026 through September 30, 2027.
