About Medical Code Lookup

MedicalCodeLookup.com is a free reference tool for the U.S. medical code sets that decide what gets billed and paid: ICD-10-CM diagnoses, ICD-10-PCS inpatient procedures and HCPCS Level II supplies, drugs and services. It is built for the people who look codes up all day - billers, coders, practice staff, students - and for patients trying to decode a claim or an explanation of benefits.

The current build carries the FY2027 ICD-10 files (effective October 1, 2026 to September 30, 2027) and the HCPCS October 2026 quarterly update: 74,879 billable ICD-10-CM codes, 79,256 ICD-10-PCS codes, 7,448 active HCPCS Level II codes and 364 modifiers. Everything is searchable from the homepage by code or by description, with no account and no paywall.

CPT codes are the one major set not listed: CPT is copyrighted by the American Medical Association and licensed, so this site explains CPT and links to price data instead of reproducing its descriptions. See About CPT and the methodology page for sources and limits.
